How it works
How is this possible you say? To play games from PlaysOn, a membership is required. The cost for a lifetime membership is £29.99 and comes with a 45 day free trial. That means that anytime within the 45 days of joining, customers who are not thrilled with the service can return the game they are playing and receive a full refund of their £29.99.
Once a customer has a membership, they are allowed to check out one game at a time. They can keep that game for as long as they wish with no late fees. The cost per game ranges from £1.99 to £5.99 depending on the title. First class postage for both delivery of the game and the return delivery are included in the play fee.
When a member is done playing a game and wants a new one all they have to do is send back the old game, and as soon as it is checked in, they can choose another one to play.
Games Catalog
PlaysOn carries games for XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3. Titles are arranged alphabetically under each console type. To choose a game members simply select a console and then the first letter of the title of the game they wish to search for. This brings up a list of all the available games in the catalog. Each listing gives a description of the game and how much it costs to play. If the game is in stock and available there will be a box that says ADD next to it. If there is no ADD box, that title is currently being played by another member and unavailable.
PlaysOn.com offers members two ways to get unavailable games. They can reserve a game by going to the reserve a game page in each console section. This puts them next in line to get that game as soon as it comes back in. This service is available to members one time for each title and does have an additional £1 fee. For those who desperately want to play a game that is unavailable, they can request PlaysOn to purchase one for them. This option is ideal for popular titles and new releases.
